Realizing that schools still need to hold their progress and standards transparent to the public, the Indiana House passed the House Enrollment Act 1591 stating that schools need to have the following four items listed on their website:

  1. Pass rate for IREAD-3: 100% for the last 3 years for all non-IEP students (20-21, 21-22, 22-23)

  2. Per student funding  96.6% (23-24)

  3. Chronic absenteeism rate (18+ absences / 180 days of school) 22.7% (22-23) This is pretty high, but the lowest attending MCA students have an attendance rate of 79.9%, The State goal is 71.2%

  4. Pass rate for ILEARN English/language arts and math (Tested Grades 3 - 8, 22-23) - 15% combined. Top 80% for ELA Proficiency in the state. Top 60% for Math Proficiency in the state.

School Grades

Indiana legislature has declined to grade schools since the start of the pandemic. That means if you Google MCA’s school grade you’ll find it was a ‘D’ for the 2018-19 school year.

The official School Performance Report is linked below as required. However it is still out of date, being from 21-22.
