who are we?

Christians with a heart to reach out to our community and provide a safe, stable environment for students of all backgrounds regardless of socioeconomic status or race.

Classes

We are a small school with no designs to ever grow past 120 students. We cap each classroom at 18 students. Having such small classes allows individual attention to be given to each student by their teacher.

Tuition

We are primarily funded through Indiana School Choice Vouchers. Other schools accept vouchers, but we intentionally price our tuition & fees below the voucher maximum award amount. This is part of our mission. Access to a safe Christian school shouldn’t be cost prohibitive to any family.

What do we teach?

Jesus, love, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control. These aren’t the normal subjects listed on a chalkboard but the unspoken sermons displayed by our teachers and staff.

For the traditional subjects we use:

Reading & Writing: Magnetic Reading Foundations, Ready Reading, i-Ready, Heggerty, Rod and Staff Classical Christian Grammar(6-8)
Math: Ready Math; i-Ready
Science: Purposeful Design
Social Studies: Embedded within ELA curriculum; Story of the World (6-8)
Bible: Developed in-house

All students have Bible class four days a week and attend Chapel once a week. Each week, volunteer ministers from local Churches of Christ come to deliver a chapel message based on a specific attribute of the year's verse. The other four days of Bible class further elaborate on these attributes, exploring them at a maturity level appropriate for each grade.

Bible & Chapel

We maintain a 1:1 ratio of Chromebooks to students in grades 2–8. While we don't prioritize teaching through computers, we leverage them as highly effective tools. For instance, our i-Ready math program evaluates each student’s progress and assigns lessons tailored to their specific areas of need.

Additionally, we provide iPads for Kindergarten and 1st-grade students. These devices enhance early learning by offering interactive educational apps that help young learners build foundational skills in a developmentally appropriate manner.

Assessments

Three assessments take place each year for math and reading - at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year. We’re not trying to force everyone to meet the highest standards, but rather help each student make solid progress. These assessments take place on the computer using iReady, which is a national standard exam for millions of students each year.

Extra
Curriculars

We are able to provide Art, Music, Gym, and Library for each student once a week. At this time we do not have any after school activities or other athletics. Larger schools will be able to provide the opportunity for these things, but the trade-off MCA can provide is the individual attention to each student. We hope to grow our opportunities for extra-curricular activities and sports as God provides us with volunteers and resources to do so.
