First Grade Teacher
Michiana Christian Academy – South Bend, IN
Michiana Christian Academy (MCA) is seeking a nurturing and Christ-centered First Grade Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to build both academic and spiritual foundations in young learners through rigorous instruction rooted in a Biblical worldview.
At MCA, our mission is to empower students and their families to boldly serve Jesus Christ by building an excellent academic foundation established on the truth of God’s Word. We are looking for a teacher who will inspire a love for Jesus, a passion for learning, and the development of Godly character in each child.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, standards-based lessons across core subjects for first-grade students.
Infuse Biblical truths into daily instruction and model the character of Christ.
Foster a safe, supportive, and joyful learning environment that encourages growth in all areas.
Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of young learners.
Partner with families to support the academic and spiritual development of each student.
Contribute to a Christ-centered school culture through collaboration with staff and leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field required; valid teaching license required (Indiana license preferred).
The ideal candidate will hold an Early Literacy Endorsement or be eligible to obtain it prior to the renewal of their current Indiana teaching license.
A strong, active Christian faith and a heart for discipleship in early childhood education.
Familiarity with Indiana State Standards for early elementary education preferred.
A passion for working with young children and fostering their holistic development.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
