Part-Time 1st Grade Paraprofessional

Michiana Christian Academy (MCA) is seeking a caring and dependable Part-Time 1st Grade Paraprofessional for the 2025–2026 school year. This position supports the first-grade classroom by assisting the lead teacher in providing a nurturing, Christ-centered, and academically excellent environment.

The right candidate will help us foster a love for Jesus, a passion for learning, and the development of Godly character in our young students.
Position Details:
Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week)
Morning and/or early afternoon schedule (to be finalized with the teacher/administration)
Responsibilities:
Assist the first-grade teacher in classroom instruction, activities, and daily routines.
Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support under the teacher's direction.
Help supervise students to ensure a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment.
Support classroom management by reinforcing positive behaviors and classroom procedures.
Assist in preparing instructional materials and organizing classroom resources.
Model Christ-like behavior and support the spiritual growth of students.
Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other staff to ensure a consistent educational experience.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate’s degree or relevant experience preferred.
A strong, active Christian faith and commitment to the mission of Christian education.
Experience working with young children, especially in an educational or ministry setting, is highly preferred.
Patience, flexibility, a servant's heart, and a desire to support student success.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
