MCA is a Christian, educational, non-profit organization serving individuals and families of all denominations. MCA is located on the south side of South Bend, IN, just off the bypass. Contact us if you have any questions, or to tour our facility and meet with our administrator. We look forward to serving you!

Michiana Christian Academy (Michiana Christian School, Inc.) is accredited with the State of Indiana

Critical thinking has been lacking in the education system nationally for more than two decades. MCA has embraced a more innovative and forward-thinking teaching philosophy. Our academic priority is to cultivate into each student the skill of thinking critically, while serving the whole child. Our educators are licensed and specially trained, especially in the area of project-based learning (PBL), which sharpens critical thinking skills.

  • Committed to educational excellence

Our Story

Our Story

Michiana Christian Academy (formerly Michiana Christian School) was founded in 1976 in South Bend, Indiana as a ministry of area Churches of Christ/Christian Churches desired to provide a Christ-centered education for young individuals in the community. MCA continues today primarily as a mission of the Deer Run Church of Christ (DRCC), a loving and dedicated church family, along with supportive churches and invested members of the community.

David Honeycutt is the longstanding lead minister at DRCC, who is a pleasant presence at MCA. He is loved by the MCA staff, students, and families, and can occasionally be seen sharing an encouraging word in the halls of MCA.

Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

MCA board, administration, and staff believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God, accepting and embracing Christ's unconditional and sacrificial love as defined in John 3:16. Our Father's guidance is present through His Word and we, as a collective body, aspire to reflect his love in a way that glorifies him.

These beliefs are established by Deer Run Church of Christ/Christian Church:

Loving God.  Loving People.

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error, and is the standard and authority for faith and practice for all generation (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21).
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the absolute Deity of Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:7; John 1:1-2),
Virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:30, 34),
Substitutionary death (Isaiah 53:6; 1 Peter 3:18),
Physical resurrection of our Lord and Savior (1 Corinthians 15:3-4),
A literal return of Jesus Christ (John 14:3).
We believe a person's conversion is a process of many essential elements:
Hearing the Word of God brings us to faith. (Romans 10:17)
Believing that Jesus is the Christ will result from meaning. To believe that Jesus exists is the foundation to everything else we do and say. (John 3:16)
Repenting, because we must realize that we are on the wrong path, and faith opens up the eyes of the spiritually blind. (Luke 13:3)
Confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Matthew 10:32)
Baptism - being immersed for the forgiveness of sins. (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16)
Living a new life. (James 1:12; Ephesians 4:17-32)

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
— Philippians 1:9-11
